Terms & Conditions
Introduction
Welcome to Howard Travel. These Terms and Conditions outline the basis on which we arrange and sell travel services and packages. By booking with us, you agree to these Terms, so please read them carefully before making any travel arrangements.
Who We Are
Howard Travel is an independent travel agency based in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. We are a fully licensed and bonded agent, working only with reputable tour operators, airlines, and accommodation providers.
We act as an agent on behalf of the suppliers whose services we sell unless otherwise stated.
Your Booking
When you make a booking through Howard Travel, you enter into a contract with the principal supplier (for example, a tour operator, airline, or hotel). Their own Terms & Conditions will apply to your booking, and we recommend reviewing them carefully.
Your booking is confirmed once we have received all required details and payment, and have issued a confirmation invoice on behalf of the supplier. Please check your documentation carefully and notify us immediately of any inaccuracies.
Payments
A deposit (as advised at the time of booking) is required to secure your arrangements. The balance must be paid by the due date shown on your confirmation. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of your booking and loss of your deposit.
We accept most major debit and credit cards and can provide secure online payment options upon request.
Financial Protection
Your holiday is fully protected. When you book a package holiday through an ATOL-protected tour operator, you will receive an ATOL Certificate confirming your protection under UK law.
If you purchase travel arrangements that do not form part of a package, financial protection may still apply through other schemes such as ABTA or IATA. We will always inform you of the protection that applies to your booking.
Changes & Cancellations
If you wish to amend or cancel your booking, please contact us as soon as possible.
Amendments and cancellations are subject to the terms and charges of the relevant supplier. We will advise you of any fees before confirming your changes.
Should a supplier make a significant change to your booking, we will notify you promptly and help you explore available alternatives or refunds, as appropriate.
Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is essential for all clients. Please ensure your policy covers cancellation, medical expenses, repatriation, personal belongings, and any activities you plan to undertake. We can provide guidance on suitable insurance options upon request.
Passports, Visas & Health
It is your responsibility to ensure you have a valid passport, any required visas, and necessary vaccinations for your destination.
We will provide general advice but recommend consulting the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and your GP for up-to-date travel and health information.
Complaints
We take great pride in the quality of our service. If you experience any issues while travelling, please report them immediately to the local supplier so they can be resolved quickly.
If your complaint is not resolved locally, please contact us within 28 days of returning home. We will do our utmost to investigate and assist in resolving the matter fairly.
Liability
Howard Travel acts only as an agent and is not liable for the acts or omissions of the principal suppliers. Your contract is with the supplier whose terms and conditions govern your booking.
We are not responsible for loss, damage, injury, or expense beyond our reasonable control, except where caused by our own negligence.
Data Protection
We value your privacy. Any personal information you provide will be handled in accordance with UK data protection laws and our Privacy Policy.
Your details may be shared only with relevant suppliers and authorities to process your booking.
Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law. Any disputes will be dealt with in the courts of England and Wales.
